In this world, a girl/woman is lucky if she is gifted with one man who truly loves her. Me...so far I've been blessed with two. It started with my Daddy who I spoke about in this post. It continues with my son who has been the subject of so many posts such as this one, and this one, and this one...you get the point. ***BIG GRIN***
The fact of the matter is that thanks to the blessing of having been loved unconditionally by these two amazing men, this sistah here can recognize a good man when she runs across one. What that means to the rest of the world and especially to any man who might wish to insert himself into this sistah's life is that he better come correct because she has been loved by the best and they have set a standard that he MUST be able to match!
Now if you would be so kind as to join me for a little video montage of my best date ever!!!
And as an added bonus, let's all "Crank That Soldier Boy!!!"
Happy Birthday #54 to ME!

WOW THAT WAS WONDERFUL! YOU looked Fabulous! Ah Missy isn't your toe broken?! You didn't look like you were feeling any pain! You must be so proud. Hell, I'm proud and I don't even know your son!
One day I will see my children fully grown and OUT ON THEIR OWN so I can reclaim my space...but I digress. You are right, time flies and before you know it they are in the world moving forward on their own strength and steam.
I loved every minute of that! I have been hoping for a lil Scribe of my own.
and was that u cranking in the corner?
Yep. I think you got it right: That was most definitely the best date ever, and it would take A LOT to top that one! And you really made me laugh with the Soldier Boy video. Wasn't expecting that!
Glad you had a good time, despite the busted toe!
@ Babz: Yes, you've got it right and I am very proud. Yes, you're right also about the broken toe, but with a date this great, this sistah decided it was worth her while to dance barefoot!
As you said, your children will one day grow up and though I know you already know this, I will say it anyway...savor the flavor because it happens before you know it! As great as it is to see how Ryan has turned out, I must admit that I will forever miss chubby arms around my neck and the whisper of "I love you Mommy" in my ear :)
@ My Favorite DJ that Diva: Well if a lil' Scribe is what you wish for, I will add my own prayers to yours and maybe one day very soon with some help from Big Scribe you will get your wish! Speaking from my own experience, there is no part of being a little boy's mother that is not completely worth it!
In answer to your question, "No, that was not Ms. Just Write Now busting the Soldier Boy in the corner!" That was Malcolm's Mom Aliciaih and interestingly enough, the DJ had actually dedicated that joint to her and Malcolm so I guess that was why ;) She is as big or bigger a partier as Ms. Just Write Now so she made up for my broken toe slow down...lol!
@ That OG Ladylee: Without question my best date ever and now that I've been properly schooled by my son, the bruhs are gonna havta step up their game! The kids doing Soldier Boy cracks me up too...Ryan dances all the time at home, but it was really, really cool to see him cutting up with his friends like this. It was also fun seeing some of his friends who I didn't even know could dance out on the floor too!
AWWWWWW!!! That was too special! U were WORKIN' that li'l Black dress & heel, Mama;-)! Of course, U were GREATLY missed in DC this weekend & the SUN refused to come out since u weren't there;-). HUGZ!!
Gurl I'm Happy for you ;-)
Looks like you had a blast. That's cool. You know you were missed this weekend, but there is more fun to be had.
Awwwwwwww, how sweet is that when the sons take the Moms out.
That's so sweet! Usually I always hear about the dads and daughters dances, so it was nice to see the moms and sons too! : )
